Photography & Media Consent

Our Approach

NOVATECH A.I American College may photograph and video students as part of school events, classroom activities and promotional materials. We are committed to obtaining appropriate consent and handling all images with care and respect for student dignity and safety.

When We Photograph or Film Students

• School events, sports days, performances and ceremonies
• Classroom and learning activities for school records or publications
• School website, social media and printed promotional materials
• Year group and class photographs

We will never photograph or film students in situations that could cause embarrassment, compromise safety or violate their dignity.

Consent

Parental or guardian consent for photography and media use is obtained as part of the school registration process. Consent forms clearly state the types of images that may be taken and how they may be used. You may update your consent preference at any time by contacting school administration.

Where a child is old enough to form a view, their own preferences are also taken into account.

How Images Are Used

Photographs and videos of students may be used for the following purposes, subject to consent:

• School website and social media accounts (no identifiable personal details alongside images)
• School newsletters, prospectus and printed materials
• Internal school records and communications
• Local press and media coverage of school events

Storage and Security

School photographs and videos are stored securely and accessed only by authorised staff. We do not sell or share student images with third parties for commercial purposes. Images are retained only as long as they remain relevant and are deleted securely when no longer needed.

Student-Taken Photography

Students are not permitted to photograph or video other students or staff without explicit permission. Personal mobile phones must be stored during school hours. Any breach of this rule is handled under our Acceptable Use Policy and Disciplinary Procedure.

Visiting Media and External Photographers

Any external photographer, journalist or media representative visiting the school must identify themselves on arrival, agree to our photography policy and be supervised at all times. Student images captured by external parties are subject to the same consent requirements.

Withdrawing Consent

Parents and guardians may withdraw or modify consent at any time. Where consent is withdrawn, the school will make reasonable efforts to remove previously published images of the student from school-controlled platforms. We cannot guarantee removal from third-party archives. Current version: August 2025.
