Responsible AI Policy

How NOVATECH uses artificial intelligence safely, ethically and transparently with students at every stage.

Our Commitment

NOVATECH A.I American College believes that artificial intelligence is one of the most transformative forces shaping the world our students will enter. Our responsibility is to ensure students learn to use AI tools thoughtfully, critically and ethically — not simply to use them.

This policy sets out how AI is used at NOVATECH, what protections are in place for students and what families can expect.

Core Principles

  • Age-appropriate: AI tools are introduced gradually, matched to each student's cognitive and emotional stage of development
  • Supervised: All AI-assisted activities are teacher-led and conducted in structured classroom environments
  • Consent-based: Parents are informed and consent is obtained before students engage with any AI tools
  • Critical: Students are explicitly taught to question, evaluate and verify AI-generated outputs — not to accept them uncritically
  • Safe: No student accesses unauthorised AI platforms at school. All tools in use have been reviewed by school leadership

Approved AI Use in School

AI tools approved for classroom use at NOVATECH are selected based on age-appropriateness, data privacy compliance, educational value and alignment with our curriculum goals. The school maintains a current list of approved tools, reviewed annually.

Approved uses may include:

  • Supervised AI-assisted coding and logic exercises
  • Teacher-led demonstrations of AI decision-making and pattern recognition
  • Structured critical analysis of AI outputs as part of digital literacy learning
  • Age-appropriate AI ethics discussions

What Is Not Permitted

  • Students accessing personal AI accounts or consumer AI chatbots on school devices or networks
  • Submitting AI-generated work as the student's own without disclosure (academic integrity)
  • Using AI tools to produce content that is harmful, deceptive or in breach of our Acceptable Use Policy
  • Staff using AI to process or share identifiable student data without appropriate safeguards

Student Data and AI

NOVATECH does not share individually identifiable student data with AI platforms without explicit parental consent. Any AI tools that process student work do so in anonymised or aggregate form where possible. For full details, refer to our Privacy Notice.

Academic Integrity

Students are taught from an early age that intellectual honesty is a core value. Using AI to complete assessed work without disclosure is treated as academic misconduct and handled under our Complaints and Disciplinary Procedure. The school's approach to AI and academic integrity is taught explicitly as part of the curriculum — not assumed.

Review and Updates

AI technology evolves rapidly. This policy is reviewed at least annually and updated as new tools, risks or guidance emerge. Parents will be informed of any significant changes. Current version: August 2025.
